Position: Field Service Engineer
Service on wide range of Siemens CNC, Motion Control and Drive systems

CNC Design is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their service team based in Sydney (Silverwater), Australia.

Reporting to the NSW Office Manager, the Service Engineer will be to carry out all day to day service, maintenance and/or installation activities with minimal supervision ensuring compliance with customer satisfaction, quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will working on Motion Control systems in a wide variety of industries including Machine Tool, Oil & Gas, Mining, Packaging, and Printing.

It is important for the applicant to demonstrate ability to:

  • Be the initial focal point for customer technical enquiries and keep customer fully informed of possible system enhancements and upgrade paths

  • Perform Field Service and fault finding on Siemens CNC, Motion Control, PLC control & Drive systems

  • Be able to identifying sales and service opportunities

  • Timely complete Service Reports with good liaison with the other offices, management, sales

  • Work primarily in the NSW area of Sydney and Newcastle, with occasional travel to sites within Central coast region and interstate travel and overnight accommodation. On call will be involved so a fully maintained company vehicle will be provided.

  • Maintain and handle the local spare parts stock

  • Differentiate CNC Design’s offering from competitors and demonstrate superior value

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Applicants with the following skills and experience should apply for this rewarding position, those without these qualifications and experience will not be considered.

  1. Electrical Engineering Degree or industry technologies knowledge accompanied with relevant compliance licenses and equivalent professional experience 2-3 years or greater service within the field.

  2. Experience working on CNC controlled equipment, machine tools and/or other forms of manufacturing equipment and low voltage servo drives

  3. Experience in service, maintenance and/or installation activities on relevant technologies with strong electronic troubleshooting skills

  4. Outstanding communications skills. Ability to communicate complex issues concisely and with clarity. All applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English.

  5. Ability to work without supervision

  6. Customer relationship skills

  7. Ability and willingness to travel most of the time to remote sites (domestic and international) for work and training purposes

  8. Holding a current and valid drivers license

  9. Must be Australian Citizen or holder of an Australian Permanent Residency Visa

DESIRABLE

The following would be advantageous:

  1. Experience within a service business focusing on relevant industry technologies

  2. Specialist training and knowledge of Siemens Automation and Drives equipment

  3. Experience with Siemens CNC control (SINUMERIK), Motion control (SIMOTION), PLC control (SIMATIC) and Drives (SIMODRIVE, SINAMCIS) is a plus and further training will be on going.

  4. Holding an Disconnect/Reconnect license or Electrical license
