Panels for Small Machines and Plants
The Simatic TP 170micro panel from Siemens Automation and
Drives (A&D) is equipped with a 5.7" monochrome STN
touch display and has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It
is tailored to the Simatic S7-200 mini PLC and designed for
operator control and monitoring of small machines and plants.
It communicates with the S7-200 controller via PPI or MPI
point-to-point link using its integral interface. The new
micro panel is significantly more powerful than its predecessor
the TP 070 and it can be easily integrated into networks via
PPI multi-master communication, for example. The user memory
now has a size of 256KB and the expanded quantity structure
offers more capacity for pictures, variables, text, and graphics
objects. The message system encompasses message history and
freely definable message classes for status and fault messages,
for example. Indicator lights help to visualize machine and
plant states. Preset limit values for inputs and outputs are
now also automatically monitored. A password system has also
been integrated.
To facilitate global use, projects can be created in up to
32 languages, including languages with Cyrillic and Asian
characters. Of these, five are available simultaneously on
the new touch panel, and users can switch between these online
- including the graphics.
The device is configured with the new Simatic WinCC flexible
engineering software, from the Micro version upward. (09/2003)
