Forming, Filling, Sealing


The form-filling and sealing machines form the packing material, which is either drawn from a reel or taken in the form of packing material blanks from a stack, into the container shapes. At a second step, the packing materials now available in the form of container shapes (blisters, yoghurt pots etc.) are filled and finally sealed.

The objective is to control the associated process i.e positioning synchronization and temperature control such that the largest possible number of parts pass through the machine per unit time. Allowance has to be made for sheet specific parameters during the acceleration and deceleration.


Solution

• MASTERDRIVE MC drive with Technology Function F01 or SIMOTION C230 provide Virtual Master controlling all physical axes. Axes will operate specific functions such as feeding, gearing, camming or registration mark synchronizing.
• SIMATIC S7-300/400 PLC to maintain the appropriate vacuum and pressure levels for the forming and sealing sections.
